This beautiful necklace features an antique rolled gold double sided photo locket with an unusual decorative casing. The locket is on a gold fill chain. The locket can be gently unscrewed at the top so you can add your own photos/images.

Container jewellery to house tokens and special items have been around since Egyptian times and the first  “lockets” held medicinal herbs, religious relics, prayers or perfumes. Elizabeth 1 is thought to have owned one of the first sentimental lockets which was a ring depicting tiny portraits of both herself and her mother Anne Boleyn. The locket measures 5cm 4cm and the chain measures 46cm with a 3cm extension.
