Micro mosaic pieces were made for tourists in Italy during the Victorian and Edwardian periods.  Micro mosaic is the art form of using very small cut pieces of glass to create intricate designs. 

This beautiful example features a central floral design and is stamped Made In Italy on the back.  It is made from brass and glass.

It measures 3.5cm x 3cm.
