Antique 1923 Silver Watch Fob Pendant Necklace

This product is sold out

This beautiful necklace features a sterling silver with rose gold cartouche watch fob pendant on a heavy sterling silver chain. It is hallmarked Birmingham 1923 and is marked for the makers Thomas Fattorini. The cartouche has some very faint engraving, probably of initials. A totally unique and stunning necklace.

The Fattorini company was founded in 1827 by Antonio Fattorini an Italian immigrant who settled in Yorkshire, UK. They specialised in the manufacture of badges and  medals for sports clubs. The company is still manufacturing today led by the 6th generation of the Fattorino family.

A fob is an adornment or a seal that hung from the ribbon or chain of a Gentleman's pocket watch. Its purpose was to decorate or add weight to the watch chain. Watch fob pendants were often given as prizes or to commemorate a special occasion or event. This particular pendant is rare as it is blank on both sides.

The fob measures 4cm x 2.5cm. The total length of the chain is 44cm.
