Antique 1915 Threepence Bracelet
This product is sold out
This beautiful necklace features a Victorian 1899 British threepence on sterling silver chain with gold fill highlights.
The British threepence was know as a threepence or threepenny bit and was first used in England during the reign of Edward VI (1547-53). All threepences minted from 1816 to 1919 were made of sterling silver and those produced between 1920 and 1946 were half silver, half nickel. These coins were often made into bracelets by soldiers serving in WWII to send home to their sweethearts. This coin is from one of these bracelets.
The necklace measures 39cm with a 3cm extension.
Gold fill has the same desirable properties and look of solid gold. It won’t tarnish and will not rub off. If treated with care gold filled jewellery can be worn daily without fear of fading or rubbing off.
