Brand Leoni & Vonk

Beautiful hallmarked 1919 Chester cheroot holder with the makers mark CD & FS for  Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders and James Francis Hollings Shepherd. The necklace also features an original 1932 threepence and moonstone heart on a sterling silver bead chain.

This is a very unusual and unique necklace. 

Saunders and Shepherd is a firm of manufacturing jewellers that were founded in London in 1869 by Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders Sr. and James Francis Hollings Shepherd at 23 Bartlett’s Buildings in Holborn Circus. They are still manufacturing today and are based in the Birmingham jewellery quarter. In 1981 they were commissioned to make a gold bracelet for Lady Diana Spencer for her 20th birthday which she would go on to wear on her wedding day.

The cherrot (cigar holder) holder measures 5cm and the chain measures 55cm.
