Vintage Silver Scissors Necklace

Vintage ladies silver scissors on a sterling silver chain. A totally unique necklace. (Please note these scissors are not sharp)

Decorative scissors were often a part of a ladies chatelaine.  A chatelaine was generally carried by the lady of the house and was a decorative belt hook or clasp worn at the waist with a series of chains suspended from it. Each chain was mounted with useful household items such as scissors, fruit knives, thimbles, watches, keys, small purses, stamp cases and pencils. 

The scissors measure 6cm including the ring and the total length of the chain is 70cm.
