This beautiful necklace features an 1891 sterling silver British threepence, aqua quartz heart and sapphire drop on a sterling silver chain.
The British threepence was know as a threepence or threepenny bit and was first used in England during the reign of Edward VI (1547-53). All threepences minted from 1816 to 1919 were made of sterling silver and those produced between 1920 and 1946 were half silver, half nickel. Gems were often added to these coins and given as love tokens. This rare and unusual Victorian coin from 1886 has a tiny blue stone inset.
The coin measures 1.5cm and the chain is adjustable and measures up to 60cm.
