60th Birthday! Vintage 1964 Sixpence And Ruby Heart Necklace

This beautiful necklace features a 1964 British sixpence with a dyed ruby heart charm on a gold fill chain. This would make a great 60th birthday present.

The sixpence is known as the lucky coin. During the early 1600's it was customary for the Lord of the Manor to give his bride a piece of silver as a wedding gift. This was symbolically represented by a sixpence coin and that tradition of the sixpence as a symbol of good luck continues today.

The coin measures 2cm and the chain measures 44cm with a 3cm extension. 

Ruby is one of July's birthstones and is considered the stone of love, energy, passion, power, and a zest for life. it is believed that rubies improve motivation and the setting of goals.
